Pastoral Structure

Our Lady's is a school in which the welfare of our students informs everything that we do. We aim at all times to equip them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

We have in place a highly developed Pastoral Care system which enables us to support and encourage our students and to work with their families and outside agencies to ensure that their time in Our Lady's is happy and fulfilled.

Form Teacher - has special responsibility for the pastoral care of a class group.

Head of Year - has overall charge of the pastoral care of all classes in the year group and works closely with the form teachers.

Head of School - is responsible for overseeing all matters relating to a Key Stage, including pastoral issues.

Pastoral Vice Principal - has overall responsibility, under the direction of the Principal, for all pastoral matters in the school.

Student Support - peer and teacher support for students who need additional help.

School Counsellors - professional counsellors who work with students facing particular challenges.

We recognise the central role which parents and carers play in the education of their children and we place a high priority on establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the homes of our pupils. We aim to involve parents and carers in the life of the school as much as possible and we keep them informed of their child s progress by means of formal written reports, comments in the Pupil Planner, Parents Evenings, email, text messages and telephone calls when appropriate.
